Why Train at Ki Nagare Dojo?
Whether looking for
yourself or your children Ki Nagare Dojo offers a martial art
instruction unique to the area. Our school offers a means
of practical self defense training, of fitness, and making new friends in
the community.
For Your
Health
Many people are surprised
at the amount of exercise received in an Aikido class. With a
style that is built around protection with minimal strength and effort
you need to look at the other side of practice. It is the role of
the attacker where people receive their conditioning. In this roll
you most control your movement for your protection, test the technique
(and escape if able), and to quickly return to you feet.
One of our students put it
best "My friends keep asking me how I am loosing weight, and I tell them
I fall down and get up, I fall down and get up..."
For Your
Protection
Aikido is a martial focused
on self defense. It is not a sport with competition or rules, it
is concerned about anything goes attacks. The techniques are
simple and direct means to gain control of an attacker.
For Your
Sanity
Students of Aikido maintain
a Zen like attitude while executing techniques. Exercises and
techniques teach students to keep their bodies relaxed and minds clear.
You are taught not to clash or brace with aggression, but to merge with
it and manipulate it.
With regular practice these abilities transfer into your daily
life. You develop the ability to instantly shed stress. You
prevent people from getting under your skin.
To Make Friends That Are
More Like Family
Our school is made up all
types of people. Groups of people that may have never met without
Aikido, but through a connection in class will regularly get together
and have fun. Being part of our school is being part of a
community.
For Depth
of Study
Aikido is something you can
practice for a lifetime. You will not run out of things to
practice. Even the most advanced practitioners consider themselves
students, constantly striving to perfect their art. With our
school instructor having 16 years of practice, and regular interaction
from his instructors (with over another decade of training) there is no
shortage of material to cover.
